India Celebrates Children's Day!
“BUT JESUS SAID, ‘LET THE CHILDREN COME TO ME, AND DO NOT HINDER THEM; FOR TO SUCH BELONGS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN’”
14 November • India
As Fr. General Jacob Nampudakam would say, “make a child smile again!” On 14 November, India celebrates National Children’s Day. The date is not perchance; it’s also the birthday of the country’s first Prime Minister after gaining its independence, Jawaharlal Nehru. He emphasized the importance of giving affection and attention to the little ones, and hence in return was fondly recognized by them; garnering the nickname Chaha Nehru, or Uncle Nehru!
