400 Familes Fed By 1 Square Mile

“This is the secret, dear friends, and all of us are called to share in it. God expects something from you. God wants something from you. God hopes in you.
He is encouraging you to dream. He wants to make you see that, with you, the world can be different.
For the fact is, unless you offer the best of yourselves, the world will never be different.”

Our Lady of Grace!

In a small town of 1 square mile, the Pallottine community of Our Lady of Grace Parish and Academy in Fairview, New Jersey, fed over 400 families. If Pallotti asks us, “can you give a good example to others? Then show good example. Can you exhort your neighbor to do good? Then exhort him. Can you contribute something to help the missionary activities?”, then this small but mighty community has shown us the response!

On Thanksgiving, a holiday which shines forth the warmth of family through a table of loved ones, many more neighbors of our Pallottine family will be able to gather for dinner. Under the pastoral guidance of Fr. Peter Sticco, Provincial of the Immaculate Conception Province, much of the food was delivered to Veterans who spent their career in service of protecting and assuring the freedom of the United States. Meals were also transported to the poorest areas of nearby New York City.

In the words of our family at Our Lady of Grace , “we give thanks for our many blessings during this season by sharing our blessings with those less fortunate,” making the words of St. Vincent “a tangible part of our life:

‘our neighbor is anyone capable of knowing, serving, loving, and enjoying God.
But everyone is capable of doing this. Therefore, enemy or friend, Catholic or heretic, pagan or unbeliever, Christian or Jew, countryman or foreigner of any nation of earth is our neighbor.’”

To Fr. Peter, the Pallottine Fathers, Sisters, students, staff and community, thank you for showing us “the infinite possibilities born through faith!” (St. Therese of Lisieux)

Happy Thanksgiving!
